Job Description:

Guest Service Aide position at San Jose Marriott responsible for greeting guests, assisting with luggage, providing information about hotel amenities and local areas, arranging transportation, and ensuring excellent guest service while maintaining company policies and safety standards.

Job Responsibility:

  • Greet and escort guests to rooms
  • Open doors and assist guests/visitors
  • Inform guests of property amenities, services, and hours
  • Explain room features to guests
  • Transport guest luggage to/from rooms
  • Assist with luggage storage and retrieval
  • Assist guests in/out of vehicles
  • Supply guests with directions
  • Arrange transportation for guests
  • Communicate parking procedures
  • Report accidents and unsafe conditions
  • Maintain awareness of undesirable persons
  • Ensure professional appearance
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests
  • Assist individuals with disabilities
  • Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette
  • Develop positive working relationships

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • No related work experience
  • No supervisory experience
  • No license or certification required
  • Ability to read and visually verify information in various formats
  • Ability to move at required speed (run, walk, jog)
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds without assistance and over 75 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and stairs
  • Ability to reach overhead and below knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
