The Group Sales Manager promotes and sells to a defined geographical market in the United States as well as 1 or 2 verticals. Candidate should possess the ability to penetrate organizations hierarchy and establish relationships beyond basic contacts. This position requires a high degree of independent judgment, entrepreneurial thought, discretion, strategic decision-making skill and managing confidential information of the property.
Job Responsibility:
Actively sell and manage his/her key accounts as #1 priority
Achieve personal quota or annual revenue goals
To uncover, prospect and sell group business with a focus on Four Seasons Vail, in accordance with the objectives established in the Marketing Plan
The ability to monitor and identify current and future business trends to ensure profitable sales in periods of low and high demand
The ability to negotiate and achieve maximum revenue/profit potential for the Resort while satisfying client's needs
The ability to be proactive and creative in developing sales solutions for the Resort
Responding and supporting leads and RFP’s
Management of sales travel, trade shows, and sales/marketing expenditures
Support Resort customers in-house to promote good will and foster additional business, repeat bookings or referrals to other Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts
Coordinate special sales activities, promotions, sales trips, trade shows, etc. Meet and entertain clients, some of which will require travel
Develop and conduct persuasive in-person and online sales presentations to prospective clients
Develop individual accounts using information provided by sources such as, but not limited to, the Worldwide Sales Office, Strategic Partner Program, industry contacts, and market intelligence
Organize and conduct sales site tours and familiarization trips to assist with awareness and in turn, help increase revenue
Work with all departments in preparation for VIP clientele arrivals and experience
Keep immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken where appropriate
Continuously monitor, present, and communicate current and forecasted financial/business performance
Requirements:
3+ years of group sales experience in a luxury setting
Carrying existing deployment/quota
Ability to be a Public Ambassador for Four Seasons Hotels
Strong knowledge of the complexities of selling and competing with other mountain resorts and destinations
Ability to utilize computerized operational systems (PowerPoint, Ideas, Excel, Word, Outlook, FO system, Opera, and ideally Salesforce (Golden Sales & Catering))
Self-starter, sound analyzer and problem solver
Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills, with a strong sense of quality and a creative mindset
Ability to multi-task effectively, managing multiple projects while being cognizant of deadlines and priorities
Develop and use good business acumen and be a good "business operator"
The ability to be vigilantly attentive to detail, monitor quality, and be obsessively service oriented
The ability to be versatile, flexible, show stress management, manage criticism, and manage conflict effectively
Fluency in English is required
