The aim of the Group Accountant role is to support the group’s financial reporting and cash management processes, ensuring accurate consolidation and reconciliations across multiple entities. This role is critical in driving efficiency, improving processes, and maintaining strong financial controls to support strategic decision-making.
Job Responsibility:
Work closely with the Group Reporting Manager to perform monthly consolidation and intercompany reconciliation process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
Take ownership of monthly group balance sheet analyses and reconciliations, including the review of the Group’s net working capital and balance sheet KPIs
Take ownership of the Group’s IFRS 16 calculations and monthly journal entries, ensuring compliance with required standards
Support cash management initiatives, including moving cash up the business and optimising liquidity
Assist in producing consolidated statutory accounts and other reports as required for the year-end group audit
Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance financial processes, driving continuous improvement
Work closely with the Group Reporting Manager to ensure compliance with accounting standards and deadlines
Be hands-on in problem-solving and proactive in addressing issues promptly
Support on a variety of ad hoc projects and initiatives as required
Requirements:
Qualified accountant (ACCA or ACA) with ideally 3 years post-qualification experience
FMCG or Retail industry experience preferred
Strong technical accounting knowledge and consolidation experience
Advanced Excel skills and the ability to work under pressure
