Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a field compatible to the mission and work of the YMCA
A minimum of one (1) year of experience in program development and management including budgeting, recruiting, staffing, training
Six (6) months to a year of overnight summer camping experience
Must have the ability to live on-site
Current certification in or ability to complete CPR, 1st Aid, AED training
Valid driver’s license and ability to meet the minimum requirements of the YMCA insurance carrier
Professional experience working with varied groups including children, adolescents, college students, adults, parents, teachers
Must have good interpersonal, public relations and communications skills, including the ability to make oral presentations.
Must be able to effectively work with and motivate other staff and volunteers
Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.

Job Responsibility

Support the leadership of summer and year-round programs in a manner consistent with the mission of camp.
Work with the staff team to ensure the smooth and safe operation of camp.
Serve as the main support for activity area staff and the Program Division Leader.
Represent camp at special events and community outreach opportunities.
Participate in meetings, training, and off-site committees to enhance overall camp programming.
Maintain relationships in relevant professional organizations (ACA, YMCA).
Manage program area logistics and planning for the summer base camp program.
Assist with logistics for summer and year-round adventure trip and travel programs.
Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of family camp weekends.
Serve as the “first on call” for programming during weekend events.
