Job Description:

The Global Head of Corporate Regional Markets and Public Sector Underwriting leads the global credit underwriting function for Citi’s corporate relationships in Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Asia Pacific, as well as the Global Public Sector portfolio. Responsible for driving credit underwriting strategy, leading diverse teams, fostering regulatory engagement, and advancing credit risk management practices across regions. This position requires significant expertise in credit underwritings, macroeconomic sensitivity, a deep understanding of global markets, and leadership qualities.

Job Responsibility:

Set the global strategy for and drive execution of the Corporate Credit Underwriting function
Lead a global team of senior credit underwriters
Promote a culture of excellence in analysis, underwriting, monitoring, thought leadership, and execution
Ensure consistency in credit practices globally
Engage with business heads, independent risk, regulators, and other control functions to disseminate emerging credit risks
Maintain strong talent in the function and ensure staff development through training and compensation
Facilitate relationships with clients in Banking and Risk, as well as regulators and auditors
Support global underwriting heads and partners on strategic initiatives
Support VOE initiatives.

Requirements:

Significant risk or risk-related credit work experience in banking or financial institutions
Level 2 Senior Credit Officer designation with potential to become Level 1 preferred
Proven ability to effectively engage with regulators and internal control functions including Internal Audit and Fundamental Credit Risk as well as with external audit
Strong ethics and integrity
Strong leadership skills
Dynamic, flexible, and with strong communication skills
Ability to see the big picture in a complex environment
Can make decisions under pressure and short timelines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated influencing and negotiating ability
