Job Description:

GI Endoscopy Registered Nurse Full Times are an integral part of the surgical team, providing essential nursing care to patients during surgical cases. Their role requires a high level of accuracy and professionalism in a fast-paced surgical environment. GI Endoscopy Registered Nurse Full Times are responsible for ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care during surgery. Their ability to maintain a professional approach while providing nursing care is critical in ensuring positive patient outcomes while keeping patients and their families informed. Will work directly with surgeons, medical/surgical staff and post-acute caregivers to create comprehensive patient care from pre- to post-op.

Job Responsibility:

  • Knows and adheres to policies of the Center and demonstrates fiscal responsibility
  • Follows standards, policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for non-acutely ill patients according to accepted standards
  • Demonstrates ability to understand the unique needs of each age group of the patient population
  • Follows OSHA and other standards for protection against blood borne pathogens
  • Uses good body mechanics
  • Remains calm and functions as a team member during times of stress and crisis situations
  • Able to take vital signs and apply V/S monitors and documents appropriately
  • Cross train as a GI Technician
  • Follows employee health and other personnel and staffing policies

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Minimum of two (2) years previous OR experience (preferred)
  • Current State License as a Registered Nurse
  • Current in BLS, ACLS
  • Possess the ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities
  • Possess the ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians, and employees
