Job Description:

We are hiring a Gas Engineer who is quality driven, dynamic and a skilled individual who is looking for a new adventure in the construction and engineering industry. As our Gas Engineer, you will be expected to deliver high-quality planned and reactive maintenance across heating and hot water systems, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, safety standards, KPI targets, and budgetary controls. The role supports operational performance through accurate diagnostics, effective repairs, and exceptional customer service.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver high-quality planned and reactive maintenance across heating and hot water systems, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, safety standards, KPI targets, and budgetary controls
  • Deliver planned and reactive maintenance within agreed programmes, budgets, and quality standards
  • Conduct inspections, diagnose system faults, fit replacement parts, and complete repairs on all heating and hot water systems
  • Carry out gas servicing, HIU servicing, and system breakdown work
  • Test smoke and CO alarms in accordance with safety requirements
  • Complete job sheets, PDA updates, daily logs, and weekly timesheets accurately and on time
  • Adhere to safe working practices and maintain the safety of colleagues and the public at all times
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a high-quality service and achieve excellent customer satisfaction
  • Ensure all planned commitments, KPIs, and service levels are met
  • Supervise and support apprentices in line with company policies and procedures
  • Provide outstanding customer service in all interactions
  • Attend all required toolbox talks and comply with the company’s Health & Safety Policy
  • Undertake additional duties as required by management
  • Maintain company vehicle to a high standard, including arranging servicing and reporting malfunctions promptly

Requirements:

  • ACS / Gas Safe certified with ability to demonstrate relevant experience
  • CCN1, CPA1, CKR1, HTR1, CENWAT (essential)
  • Energy Efficiency Certification
  • Unvented Hot Water qualification
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in gas servicing
  • Proven background as a qualified heating/gas service engineer in communal and/or domestic settings
  • Ability to use PDA devices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively
  • Full, clean UK driving licence (must be maintained)

Nice to have:

  • HIU certification (desirable)
  • Heat Pump experience (desirable)
  • Experience with gas fires, cylinders, and HRU systems

  • Maintain property services by delivering planned and reactive maintenance to an agreed programme, budget, and quality within the company’s operational targets
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all gas-related matters, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations
  • Conduct Planned Preventative Maintenance to all types of Commercial Boilers and Plant Room Equipment as per maintenance schedules
  • Attend reactive calls, diagnose faults, fit parts, and conduct repairs to boilers and ancillary mechanical systems, such as pumps, valves, pipework etc
  • Installation experience of replacement plant and components such as: Boilers, Burners, Pumps, Pressurisation units, Valves, Pressure Switches Automatic Air Vents etc. Installation Pipework to include safe isolation of systems repairs and modification. Ability to conduct repairs within communal areas to Radiators, valves, and pipework
  • Identify faults and report issues in a timely manner. Consulting with Suppliers to obtain the necessary replacement component costs to include labour requirements and submitting these to the Commercial Gas team as required
  • Complete digital records PPM’s planned works and reactive repairs for each task using Aston Group’s ACIMs software
  • Comply with safe working practices ensuring the safety of the workforce and public is always maintained
  • Liaise with all stakeholders as required to ensure a high-quality service is delivered and a high level of customer satisfaction is achieved
  • Responsible for the delivery of planned commitments to the client, ensuring agreed KPI’s and service levels are being met
