Job Description:

Joining us as Funeral Advisor, you’ll take pride in the day-to-day running of our Funeral homes – supporting our families, ensuring high standards and building trusted relationships. Being a co-operative member, you’ll be flexible, and cover other Funeral Homes (as required) for sickness and holidays, as well as arranging funerals at the clients’ premises (as required). In this varied role, you’ll blend empathy, organisation and local connection. You’ll be assisting families with all aspects of the funeral arrangement process- making sure that they feel well supported and informed.

  • Arrange funerals at clients’ premises
  • Assist families with all aspects of the funeral arrangement process
  • Develop knowledge of all services offered
  • Provide choices to personalise the funeral service
  • Arrange funerals with attention to detail and transparency of cost
  • Communicate arrangements between family and Funeral Director
  • Handle administration duties
  • Keep Funeral Home clean and tidy
  • Ensure security of premises
  • Promote Funeral Services within the local community
  • Build good working relationships with hospitals, nursing homes, local clergy and doctors
  • Comply with all statutory and internal policies and procedures
  • Daily care checks of the deceased
  • Preparation for visiting rooms

  • Comfortable in building good working relationships both internally and externally
  • Full UK Driving licence
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel in the area when required
  • Strong communication, organisation and administrative skills
  • Prior experience in an administration role is desirable
  • Comfortable with duties requiring close treatment of the deceased
  • Must pass a standard DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check
