Job Description:

Fullstack Engineer role on the Tutor Platform team at Khan Academy, a nonprofit focused on delivering free, world-class education. The role involves working on equitable solutions for under-resourced communities, guided by Engineering Principles, and may involve integrating learning science, partnering with school districts, and building teacher tools.

Job Responsibility:

  • Integrating state of the art learning science into our product to enable learners and teachers to quickly identify and address learning gaps
  • Partnering with public school districts to build and scale our teacher and learner tools
  • Building tools for teachers to use Khan Academy as a strategic supplement in their classrooms
  • Harness the power of AI to deliver product capabilities

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience building world-class product experiences for an interactive web-app
  • Experience building and maintaining scalable backend services
  • Experience building and maintaining complex, stateful frontend user interfaces
  • Experience writing clean, maintainable software
  • Experience writing testable, quality code
  • Strong communication, thoughtfulness, and desire to give and receive regular feedback
  • Motivated by the Khan Academy mission
  • Proven cross-cultural competency skills demonstrating self-awareness, awareness of other, and the ability to adopt inclusive perspectives, attitudes, and behaviors to drive inclusion and belonging
