Job Description:

Oak Street Health takes a team-based approach to providing outstanding patient care. Medical Assistants are an important part of our Care Teams, responsible for building relationships with Oak Street Health members and working collaboratively with teammates to greet and room patients, assist in assessing health conditions, and perform routine diagnostic testing during appointments.

Job Responsibility:

Ensure efficient patient flow by rooming patients in a timely manner
Deliver an exceptional patient experience and help patients prepare for their provider visit
Obtain vital signs, chief complaints and review medications
Deliver patient screenings per protocols
Order supplies and stock exam rooms
Conduct routine quality control checks including infection control measures
Ensure exam rooms are clean, safe, and ready for patient visits
Provide telephonic support to patients
Administer vaccinations and perform procedures including ABI, spirometry, EKGs
Perform waived laboratory testing
Schedule diagnostic testing
Apply or assist with durable medical equipment
Participate in care team meetings

Requirements:

3+ years in a Medical Assistant role
CPR Certification required
Medical Assistant certification or registration required
EMR experience and proficiency required
2+ years of experience working with geriatric patients is preferred
Phlebotomy Technician Certification preferred
Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
Demonstrates problem-solving skills, accountability, and a flexible, positive attitude
Fluency in Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other languages spoken by people in the communities we serve
US work authorization

Nice to have:

2+ years of experience working with geriatric patients
Phlebotomy Technician Certification
