The Machine Assistant position is responsible for working closely with Press Operators and other team members to organize and prepare materials and supplies needed in the production process for flexography.
Job Responsibility:
Assist Flexo Operator with setup
Follow safety regulations and facility guidelines
Organize materials and supplies appropriate to production schedule
Maintain work area- keep clean and organized
Read and understand work order instructions
Quality check regularly to verify producing quality products and proper counts
Keep up with demand
Prepare tooling, inks, wash-up and set-up of machine according to work orders
Follow production schedule
Insure proper counts and labeling during packing operation
Move finished goods to staging area
Stage and maintain proper levels of materials and supplies for efficient machine operation
Change tape roll when requested
Assist Press Operator with the collection of orders and products
Maintain organized work environment while assisting multiple machines
Communicate all issues/problems with Press Operator and or Supervisor
Attend meetings as assigned
Maintain cleanliness of your work area
Daily clock in/out for shift and/or applicable breaks
If all work is completed, please notify your manager
Maintain good standing with company attendance policy and physically attend all shifts when scheduled
Report all accidents directly to Human Resources and follow all safety and hazard communication procedures
Perform all other duties as directed by management
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Previous experience in production, assembly or printing environment is preferred
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to complete time report and production reports
Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations
Ability to count, number sequencing, add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Documentation, reporting, organization, data-entry, telephone skills, customer relations, listening and verbal/written communication, multi-tasking, entry-level computing skills with PC and windows, dependability and emotional control
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and regular attendance
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus
