The Fleet Controller serves as the central point of contact for all activities related to metro fleet maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational readiness. This role involves close coordination with multiple stakeholders including maintenance teams, operations staff, and planning departments to ensure timely and efficient fleet availability. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with rolling stock systems and possess strong communication and convincing skills to drive collaboration and decision-making.
Job Responsibility:
Act as the primary liaison for all fleet-related activities within the metro system
Monitor and manage fleet status in real-time to ensure operational readiness as per schedule
Coordinate with maintenance teams to address faults, breakdowns, and preventive maintenance tasks
Implement troubleshooting procedures in alignment with operational planning and safety protocols
Ensure timely communication and coordination with stakeholders including DCC (Depot Control Centre), depot teams, and engineering departments
Maintain accurate records of fleet movements, maintenance schedules, and fault reports
Support incident management and recovery processes during service disruptions
Participate in planning meetings and contribute to fleet deployment strategies
Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on fleet performance and availability
Requirements:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in rolling stock operations or metro rail systems
Strong understanding of metro fleet systems, maintenance cycles, and fault diagnostics
Experience working in a control room or fleet coordination environment is preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong convincing and negotiation abilities to align stakeholders
Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions
Proficient in using fleet management software and control systems
Analytical mindset with attention to detail
Willingness to work in shifts, including nights and weekends
Nice to have:
Experience working in a control room or fleet coordination environment is preferred
