The goal of the SANE (Search, Ads, News + Edge) team is to provide key insights that help Microsoft make better financial and business decisions related to Bing, Microsoft News, Microsoft Edge, and third party affiliates. SANE is a fast-growing business responsible for delivering advertising that seeks to empower our users by bringing them closer to the people and information that matter most to them and is heavily invested in the future of AI. Our team is at the center of Microsoft's financial activities for the Consumer business, being a key strategic partner to a diverse set of stakeholders: Senior Finance leaders, Ad Sales Leadership Team, Engineering/Product Teams, and Business Development Team. Finance Directors in our team help us transform the way we measure business performance, manage resources, and lead financial activities using business intelligence, modeling, and analytics. As a Finance Director, you will have a unique opportunity to use your insights and strategic thinking to partner with leaders on financial analysis, financial decisions and investments, and demand optimization initiatives. You will be a key member of the MSA Leadership Team and partner closely with the Global Media Sales and SMB teams to drive demand growth and expand our total revenue for our advertising products and services. As a leader in the SANE finance team, you will need to recruit, lead, develop and retain a high performing finance team of 5-7 individuals to achieve these goals. Most importantly, you will lead and champion a culture centered on embracing a growth mindset, diversity and inclusion, a theme of inspiring excellent, and encouraging teams and leaders to bring their best each day.

Job Responsibility:

  • Accelerate: Drive success for key partners within SANE and externally for our partners
  • Financial Reporting: Own the business key drivers, FP&A, and drive deep insight into the Consumer Office business
  • Rhythm of Business: Support the RoB, (rhythm of business) processes by participating in forecasting, target setting and budgeting in alignment with Consumer LT timelines
  • Financial Acumen: Manage process excellence and compliance governance across a large spectrum of revenue, technical acquisition costs, and revenue adjustments
  • Insight & Analytics: Help design and develop regular revenue, key performance indicators, investment prioritization and profitability reviews. Develop quarterly forecast and target, and support business reviews
  • Partnership: Be an integral part of the Consumer SANE leadership team and drive financial performance to maximize growth and impact
  • Collaborative: Build relationships with key partnerships across finance, business development, engineering, sales and business planning

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 10+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
  • OR equivalent experience
  • 1+ year(s) experience managing direct reports

Nice to have:

  • Demonstrated experience in a consumer tech and/or advertising business focused on developing and driving cross-company strategy
  • Experience in developing long-term, strategic growth plans
  • Executive presence including communication and presentation skills with a high degree of comfort to large and small audiences
