Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of IFRS Reporting concepts (experience with IFRS preferred)
  • Experience within the General Insurance industry (some exposure to reserving preferred)
  • Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (FIAA) or equivalent
  • Experience in SAS is essential
  • Ability to interpret and analyse complex information, extract meaningful insights and evaluate options for decision making
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends and links that inform judgements and solutions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated evidence of technical proficiency with specialised systems, software, databases, presentation, reporting and communication tools
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships internally and externally with clients, intermediaries and service providers
  • Ability to plan and prioritise effectively and manage competing resources and demands
  • Comprehensive understanding of organisational financial frameworks and experience in general insurance reserving is preferred
