We are currently recruiting for a full time female Support Worker to support a young individual to fulfil a full and active life and to help them access a full and varied programme of activities. This individual has been diagnosed with epilepsy and a learning disability and lives in the WIGTON area.
Job Responsibility:
Provide support during the good times and the difficult periods our individual faces in their daily life
Have a good understanding of epilepsy and a learning disability and how this can impact daily living
Be a positive advocate for them
Be consistent – do what you say you say you will if you can’t explain why
Be prepared to motivate them in a supportive manner
Be patient and understanding encourage them on the difficult days
Work with them to solve issues and overcome day to day tasks
Come to work to “Get to know me” as that is what is needed to support them
Work as part of the team who deliver amazing person-centred care
Think outside the box
Be able to have a laugh and joke but have set standards and boundaries
Requirements:
Epilepsy experience is preferred but training will be provided
Driving Licence (Must) Due to rural setting
Nice to have:
Have a love for outdoors and animals
Have a fun and kind personality who will go on adventures
