Job Responsibility:
Offering compassionate support to children with diverse needs, including emotional and behavioural challenges, autism, and learning disabilities
Assisting children in developing essential life skills and enhancing their overall well-being
Implementing personalised care plans and behaviour management strategies
Fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment
Maintaining accurate records of progress, incidents, and observations
Collaborating with colleagues, families, and external agencies for holistic care
Responding to challenging behaviours with patience, professionalism, and understanding
Upholding the highest standards of care and adhering to all safeguarding policies and procedures
Requirements:
A valid full driving licence and a reliable vehicle
Essential experience in Residential Children's Homes and supporting children with childhood trauma
Flexibility to travel up to an hour to Gateshead, Sunderland, Newcastle, or Durham, and availability for day and night shifts
A commitment to working at least 3 shifts per week
Proof of your Right to Work in the UK
Up-to-date mandatory training certificates, PMVA training, and an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service
The ability to provide employment references covering the last 3 years
Patience, empathy, and strong childcare experience
Knowledge of child protection and behaviour management
What we offer:
Competitive pay: £15.35 per hour for Day shifts (08:00 - 20:00) and £16.88 per hour for Waking Nights (20:00 - 08:00)
A flat rate of £57.02 for Sleep-in shifts
