Job Description:

An exciting opportunity for an experienced falconer, preferably with their own birds of prey, to work with our clients in Beaconsfield. As an NBC Falconer you will be responsible for using falconry and other methods to prevent scavenging birds from feeding on the waste site and causing nuisance.

Job Responsibility:

  • Using falconry, distress calls, blank guns shots, kites and other methods to prevent scavenging birds from feeding on the waste site and causing nuisance
  • Prevent no more than 20 scavenging birds’ access to site for 20 minutes
  • Attend site at contracted times
  • Fly the birds during the day in a manner which effectively scares and deters nuisance birds
  • Provide a minimum of 6 flights per day
  • Use all supportive deterrents at your disposal to maintain a level of control should weather not permit flying of the falcons
  • Carry out regular patrols of the site
  • Develop a positive working relationship with the client
  • Complete daily reports for the site file
  • Liaise with your area manager to improve the service where possible
  • Notify your area manager as soon as possible if problems arise that will affect service to the client
  • Be responsible for housing the working birds and keeping in good health and feather

Requirements:

  • Experience of working and flying birds of prey
  • Preferably have your own birds, suitable for this type of work
  • Be comfortable meeting and talking to new people
  • Be able to use a tablet to write reports
  • Have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
