The General Manager serves as the senior on-site operations leader for Aramark’s Facilities Services partnership at the General Motors Wentzville Assembly Center. This role is accountable for the overall performance, safety, financial results, and client satisfaction of all facilities operations supporting a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment. The General Manager provides strategic leadership and hands-on operational oversight across custodial services, facilities maintenance, subcontracted services, safety programs, and administrative functions. This leader ensures services are delivered consistently, safely, and in alignment with GM’s operational standards, production schedules, and compliance requirements. This is a critical salaried leadership role requiring a proven operator who can lead in a fast-paced, industrial manufacturing environment where reliability, discipline, and execution are non-negotiable.
Job Responsibility:
Provide overall leadership, direction, and accountability for Facilities Services operations at the General Motors Wentzville Assembly Center
Lead and develop on-site leadership teams, including managers, supervisors, and frontline leaders
Ensure all services meet or exceed contractual requirements, safety standards, and GM operational expectations
Own day-to-day execution across: Custodial and janitorial services
Facilities and building maintenance
Subcontracted and specialty services
Drive a strong safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA, GM safety protocols, and Aramark standards
Serve as the primary point of contact for GM plant leadership, building trust through consistent performance and communication
Manage full financial responsibility, including: Budget development and execution
Labor planning and productivity management
Forecasting, cost controls, and variance management
Develop and execute annual operating plans, KPIs, and performance goals
Lead staffing strategies, including hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and succession planning
Oversee vendor and subcontractor performance, ensuring service quality and responsiveness
Proactively identify and resolve operational risks, service gaps, and compliance issues
Ensure effective utilization of CMMS, IWMS, and industrial facilities systems
Conduct audits, inspections, and operational reviews to drive continuous improvement
Champion a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field required
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in facilities management, operations, or industrial services
Required experience supporting manufacturing or industrial environments, preferably automotive
Proven success leading large, complex operations with significant labor forces and multiple service lines
Strong background in: Operations and people leadership
Budgeting and full P&L accountability
Safety and compliance in industrial settings
Vendor and subcontractor management
Demonstrated ability to partner with plant leadership and senior client stakeholders
Experience working in environments with strict safety, quality, and production requirements
Working knowledge of facilities technologies, CMMS, and building systems
