Job Description:

Our team at Atlantic Roofers Ltd. is currently hiring experienced Commercial Roofers for our branch in the Dartmouth area, starting immediately. This is a great opportunity to work in a supportive environment which fosters growth and development for our employees. Job Responsibility:

  • Instruct apprentices, supervise fellow tradespersons in construction activities
  • Install, replace or repair all types of roofing systems including, but not limited to, BUR, Modified Bitumen, EPDM and TPO systems
  • Safely operate a variety of handheld tools such as cordless drills, grinders, cut off saws, etc.
  • Understanding of safe work practices and job procedures
  • Participate in safety toolbox meetings

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4+ years working in Commercial/Industrial Roofing
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Ability to work well in outdoor elements in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn new tasks
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • Attention to detail, strong communication skills
  • Some weekend flexibility may be required at times
  • Knowledge in the safe use of fall protection equipment and PPE
  • Minimum of 6 years driving experience required along with Minimum age requirements for insurance purposes for use of a company vehicle

Nice to have:

A knowledge of installation of metal flashings would be an asset, but not a requirement

  • BS EN 62446-1:2016 + A1:2018 (PV testing, inspection and documentation)
  • Building Regulations (Part A – Structure, Part C – Moisture, Part P – Electrical Safety)
  • Install mounting systems with correct structural fixings, flashings, and waterproofing
  • Perform visual inspections and support electrical commissioning with the lead electrician
