Responsible for preparing all event documentation and coordinates with Sales, property departments and customer to ensure consistent, high level service throughout pre-event, event and post-event phases of property events. This position primarily handles events of average complexity. Ensures their property events have a seamless turnover from sales to service back to sales. Recognizes opportunities to maximize revenue opportunities by up-selling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with Sales, property departments and customer
Ensure consistent, high level service throughout pre-event, event and post-event phases
Handle events of average complexity
Ensure seamless turnover from sales to service back to sales
Maximize revenue opportunities by up-selling and offering enhancements
Manage group room blocks and meeting space for average to large-sized assigned groups
Identify operational challenges and develop alternative solutions
Act as liaison between field salesperson and customer
Participate in customer site inspections
Solicit feedback from property departments to enhance the Event Planner’s experience
Deliver excellent customer service
Coordinate and communicate event details to customer and property operations
Oversee customer experiences from file turnover through post event
Follow up with customer post-event
Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints
Continually improve customer service
Interact with guests to obtain feedback
Ensure hourly employees understand expectations
Conduct formal pre- and post-event meetings
Lead meetings for assigned groups
Facilitate various meetings
Assist in sales process and revenue forecasting
Up-sell products and services
Forecast group sleeping rooms and event revenue
Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results
Observe service behaviors and provide feedback
Assist in development of corrective action plans
Use experience to improve service performance
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
1 – 2 years of experience in event management or related professional area
OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
at least 1 year experience in event management or related professional area
