Job Description:

Senior Consultant Specialist role at HSBC focusing on EUC development, providing technical solutions for business processes, and acting as a liaison between operations and IT teams for system implementation changes.

Job Responsibility:

Act as subject matter expert on VBA and MS Access SQL queries-based MS Excel automated tools
Own and independently manage MS Excel automated tools
Provide production support, support tool enhancement, EUC migration on strategic platform, process optimizations
Perform requirements gathering and analysis to provide high quality EUC automation solution
Collaborate with designated members of the applicable business group and project managers across geographies
Assist with process modelling, process migration and to enhance or re-engineer EUC processes
Collaborate with financial tools IT team and other financial analysts
Provide End to End EUC technical solution for Business process
Act as liaison between operations SME and IT Team for system implementation changes
Triage of issues reported by EUC users
Resolve conflicting end-user requirements
Collaborate with business teams to ensure timely and quality delivery of automated solutions
Manage vast number of clients across multiple geographies
Proactively remove impediments, see technical risks, and communicate issues to project Manager
Communicate solutions, ideas, suggestions to business partners effectively
Support complex EUC's which deals in Instrument and Pricing data involving connectivity with external data vendors

Requirements:

Expertise in MS Excel VBA
Expertise in MS Access
Expertise in SQL queries
Expertise in Advance Excel
Strong ability to communicate technical and data concepts to non-technical audiences
Strong analytical, organizational, verbal communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong relationship building and facilitation skills
Critical thinking abilities to take complex, ambiguous, abstract requirements and break them into smaller components
Bachelor's degree in computer science/IT
12+ years of experience in Software Engineering with proven expertise in designing, developing and deploying VBA based applications
Basic understanding of Investment banking and capital markets

Nice to have:

Python skills
XML Skills
Basic understanding of financial applications Request builder, XDS, TREATS
Experience with Analytical data, querying and managing them
Basic understanding of third party financial data vendor applications (like Bloomberg, Refinitive, Showcase)
Certification of minimum of six (6) months programme from premier institution
Any globally recognized project management certification from premier institution
Familiarity with agile development methodology
