This position is highly technical working on machines that manufacture medical equipment.
Job Responsibility:
Ensures accurate documentation of all relevant quality, safety, and maintenance documents
Organizes, executes, and directs improvement projects to increase equipment utilization
Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves complex issues associated with machine performance and/or product quality
Advises on proper content of PM task list and frequency of execution
Assists with the installation, debugging, and start-up of all new or modified production equipment
Works with general supervision, external contractors and vendor as needed
Reports directly to Engineering Manager or reports to Production Supervisor
Performs routine set up, operation, minor and major routine maintenance, preventative maintenance (PM) and troubleshooting of highly complex/automated manufacturing equipment
Controls and adjusts machine settings
Responsibilities include production, quality, downtime, and waste levels of machine operation
Perform mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance (including preventive) repairs, adjustments, inspection, and monitoring of production and/or facilities related equipment and machinery
Uses judgment to plan, perform, make decisions, troubleshoot and problem solve in performance of all maintenance tasks
Prioritizes daily work assignments to meet production needs and department goals
Responsible for preventive maintenance scheduling, completion of work orders and tasks as assigned
Supports installation and removal of equipment, and performance of required corrective maintenance
Consistent presence in production departments. Monitors the production lines and proactively evaluates equipment performance for repairs and continuous improvement
Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude to complete changeover of equipment and some operator level preventive maintenance
Assist with root-cause analysis activities for process or product exceptions
Checks work using prescribed gauges, jig, and fixtures to measure close tolerances
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED & Certificate and 2 years of experience in relevant field
High School Diploma or GED with 4 years relevant experience required
Must have experience working on Circuit/Electronic boards and hydraulics
Troubleshooting of Industrial Control Systems (instrumentation, ladder logic, relay logic, vfd, servo etc.)
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency of PLC operations, robotics, and vision systems
Mechanical design (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.)
SAP maintenance module or equivalent computerized system (welding)
Basic skills in use of mill, lathe, welding, bearing press
Time management skills required to ensure all tasks are completed without delay
Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to work with various teams
Ability to read electrical and pneumatic schematics
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, diagrams, and equipment specifications
Flexible and adaptable in working with/on a variety of equipment, processes, projects, or assignments
Understanding and use of trades mathematics, calibration techniques, and precision measuring instruments essential
Constant mental and visual attention performing moderately complex work requiring close limits of accuracy and tolerance
