Job Description:

As a Quality Assurance Analyst I, you are an EarthSoft team member with entry-level experience. You learn your team’s assigned products and assist in testing code written to fix software bugs, meet client requirements, or add new features or functionality. You are a contributing team member who follows standard operating procedures and helps the team succeed. This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position and does not encompass all tasks that may be assigned.

Job Responsibility:

  • Learn and contribute to test plan management activities
  • Assist in the design and implementation of test scenarios
  • Assist in the writing of automated UI tests using Rainforest QA
  • Prepare test data and ensure readiness of test environment prior to test execution
  • Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results
  • Write detailed bug reports and test findings
  • Help troubleshoot issues
  • Adhere to test management best practices while conducting the above
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Responsibly handle confidential data per EarthSoft policy
  • Actively participate in team communication and knowledge-sharing during team meetings
  • Utilize CI/CD pipelines to prepare test environments for feature branch testing
  • Work closely with software developers to define test coverage and achieve the above activities
  • Perform the responsibilities expected of entire company

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Chemistry, Environmental or Geological Sciences, Engineering, Geography, or Management Information Systems. Equivalent experience may be considered
  • 0 – 2+ years of software testing experience (web, desktop, or mobile technologies)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Problem-solving aptitude with an inquisitive and analytical mind
  • Strong organizational skills

Nice to have:

  • Understanding of programming concepts and languages (C#, JavaScript, Visual Basic, SQL, and XAML)
  • Experience using CI/CD pipelines
  • Basic working knowledge of EQuIS
  • Basic working knowledge of SQL and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
  • Basic working knowledge of Azure DevOps and/or Azure products
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks
  • Familiarity with regression testing procedures
  • Experience working with Rainforest QA
  • Familiarity with environmental data
  • Basic understanding of data management and databases
  • Basic understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes
