Job Description:

Highly motivated, qualified Entry Level Transportation Engineer interested in roadway and highway transportation design.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist with the design and preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates under the supervision of the Project Manager
  • Design horizontal and vertical roadway geometry
  • Create 3D roadway models
  • Write transportation design and environmental project reports
  • Facilitate project delivery including: interagency coordination, utility coordination, public involvement, technical review, and other related activities
  • Interact and communicate effectively with team members, clients, and other agencies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate desired
  • 0-5 years of progressive experience in transportation design
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documents
  • Ability to verify measurements and compute quantities
  • Internship experience in construction or transportation design desired
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
  • AutoCAD, Civil 3D a plus
  • Ability to collaborate with design team, project manager, clients, and agencies
  • Good decision-making skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) design engineering practices, standards, and documentation, a plus

Nice to have:

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate
  • Internship experience in construction or transportation design
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D
  • Familiarity with Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) design engineering practices, standards, and documentation
