Job Responsibility:

  • Assist in the structural design of a wide range of gravity and lateral structural building systems utilizing concrete, masonry, steel, and wood / timber
  • Train to design system layouts and calculations to support design activities
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients as part of Klingner’s design processes
  • Assist in conducting structural assessments and evaluations of structures to determine their safety, durability, and compliance with applicable codes
  • Prepare narratives and detailed engineering reports outlining existing conditions, recommendations, and opinions of probable cost, as necessary
  • Assist in tracking project scope, schedule, and budget to minimize project write-offs
  • Leverage various software and tools to perform structural analysis, modeling, and simulations

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Civil, Architectural, or Agricultural Engineering, specializing in structures
  • Must have intention to earn a Professional Engineer license in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, or Kentucky
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and other Microsoft Office software is a must
  • Excellent time management skills, organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple complex projects and tasks concurrently, and a commitment to meeting deadlines and keeping projects within budget is required
  • Ability to conduct all projects by quality standards and Klingner procedures, with a strong focus of on accuracy and quality of work
  • Goal-oriented with a drive to create high-quality designs, a strong sense of commitment, the willingness to learn, and the desire to work in a team environment
  • Clear written and verbal communication is a must

Future intentions of taking the Structural Engineer licensure is a plus
