Job Description:

Join our Ledger and Recon Platform team, a critical component of Airwallex's mission to provide seamless financial management solutions. As an Engineering Manager in this dynamic team, you will build and scale key financial products and serve as a bridge between engineering domains and the finance division. In this role, you will lead efforts to develop and enhance our internal ledger and reconciliation systems. Your expertise will help ensure accuracy, security, and innovation in our financial processes, and your understanding of accounting principles will facilitate effective collaboration with finance stakeholders. With Airwallex's rapid growth and fast-paced expansion, you will face and tackle the exciting challenge of developing scalable, extensible, and reliable technology infrastructure that supports our global business operations.

Job Responsibility:

Mentor and lead a team of skilled engineers, fostering a supportive, high-performance environment
Plan, implement, and oversee engineering projects, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery in alignment with business objectives
Act as a liaison between engineering teams and the finance division, ensuring clear communication and understanding of accounting requirements
Provide strategic direction and support in software development practices and system architecture, with an emphasis on financial processes
Identify opportunities to optimize financial product efficiency, security, and scalability using innovative, data-driven approaches
Ensure that all development procedures comply with industry standards for data security and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

Proven track record of managing and leading engineering teams in a dynamic environment
Strong background in backend software engineering, with proficiency in languages such as Java or Kotlin
Demonstrated understanding of accrual-based accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
Capable of effectively conveying technical and financial concepts to diverse audiences
Committed to creating a team culture that embraces diverse perspectives and values continuous learning
Utilize analytics to guide decisions and align engineering efforts with broader business goals
Demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness in overcoming challenges and delivering impactful results
Prioritizes data security and integrity throughout the software development lifecycle
