The Engineer II role at The Westin Reserva Conchal involves maintaining and repairing facilities and equipment in a high-quality hospitality environment. Key tasks include responding to guest repair requests, conducting preventive maintenance, and performing troubleshooting and repairs across various systems. You will work independently and as part of a team to ensure the smooth operation of the resort while providing excellent guest service. This role requires technical expertise, strong communication skills, and adherence to safety standards.
Job Responsibility:
Respond and attend to guest repair requests
communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues
perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment
visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
carry equipment such as tools and a radio
identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and buildings
maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies
assure communication between shifts using approved methods
display proficiency in one category, above average skills in two categories, and basic skills in remaining categories such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, or general building management
perform mid-level troubleshooting of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems
train and mentor other engineers
execute Engineer on Duty responsibilities including reading and rounds
troubleshoot and repair various types of equipment
assist with surface preparation and painting, drywall and wood trim repair, and thorough cleanups.
Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and vocational or technical background
experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation, and painting
at least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience
Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
must meet applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements.
