The Electrical Technician I is responsible for selecting, measuring, and preparing electrical wiring, as well as performing instrument startup, calibration, functional checks, and safety testing on products. This is an entry-level role where the technician will be mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions.
Job Responsibility:
Assemble, install, and perform functional and safety tests on wiring using hand tools and proper assembly techniques by following work instructions (prints, cut sheets, sample harnesses)
Interpret and follow blueprints, bills of materials (BOM), schematics, and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID)
Track and maintain inventory of project parts and supplies
Validate the quality of wire harness assemblies
Teardown and rework donor harnesses as required
Collaborate with cross-functional project teams
Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up activities
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
No prior experience required
Proficiency with hand and power tools
Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and part documentation
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Nice to have:
Certificate in Engineering Technology or related field
National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification(s)
Experience with automotive powertrain systems or electric battery systems
Knowledge of vehicle systems (powertrain, chassis, electrical, thermal, exteriors, interiors, etc.) and related components, materials, and fasteners
Willingness and ability to work overtime, including weekends, as needed
