Job Description:

The Electrical Technician I is responsible for selecting, measuring, and preparing electrical wiring, as well as performing instrument startup, calibration, functional checks, and safety testing on products. This is an entry-level role where the technician will be mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assemble, install, and perform functional and safety tests on wiring using hand tools and proper assembly techniques by following work instructions (prints, cut sheets, sample harnesses)
  • Interpret and follow blueprints, bills of materials (BOM), schematics, and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID)
  • Track and maintain inventory of project parts and supplies
  • Validate the quality of wire harness assemblies
  • Teardown and rework donor harnesses as required
  • Collaborate with cross-functional project teams
  • Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up activities

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • No prior experience required
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and part documentation
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have:

  • Certificate in Engineering Technology or related field
  • National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification(s)
  • Experience with automotive powertrain systems or electric battery systems
  • Knowledge of vehicle systems (powertrain, chassis, electrical, thermal, exteriors, interiors, etc.) and related components, materials, and fasteners
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime, including weekends, as needed
