EHS Manager – Data Centers. We are seeking an experienced EHS Manager to support the safe, compliant, and sustainable operation of mission-critical data center facilities. This role is responsible for developing and managing environmental, health, and safety programs aligned with local, state, and federal regulations, while supporting operational continuity and workforce safety.
Job Responsibility:
Develop, implement, and enforce EHS policies and programs for data center operations
Champion a strong safety culture and drive continuous EHS improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and applicable regulatory standards
Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses for electrical, HVAC, fire suppression, and critical infrastructure systems
Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation
Oversee on-site EHS performance, including subcontractors and vendors
Coordinate emergency preparedness planning and drills (fire, chemical, electrical)
Deliver EHS training for employees, contractors, and vendors
Manage environmental initiatives such as waste management, energy conservation, and water usage
Maintain accurate EHS documentation, metrics, and audit readiness
Partner with engineering, operations, construction, and security teams to embed safety into all phases of design and operations
Support regional EHS goals and KPIs through collaboration with leadership and cross-functional teams
Requirements:
Minimum of 3+ years of EHS experience (data centers, industrial, or high-tech environments preferred)
Solid knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and ISO 14001/45001 standards
Experience with electrical safety, confined space entry, and hazardous materials management preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-reliability environment
Based in Northern Virginia with flexibility for occasional travel
Nice to have:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
Familiarity with data center infrastructure (UPS systems, generators, cooling technologies)
Experience working alongside construction teams
Proficiency with EHS software platforms, Excel, and reporting tools
Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM are a plus
