The internship in the Statistics Division, Santiago, will last 2 months, depending on the needs of the Office. Candidates may be selected throughout the posting period, on an “as-needed” basis. Under the supervision or overall guidance of the Director of the Division, the intern will work on research on the relevance of official statistics for democracy.
Job Responsibility:
Assisting in data collection, validation, and cleaning processes
Supporting the team in the preparation of external sector reports, including balance of payments and trade statistics, national accounts
Contributing to the maintenance and organization of statistical databases
Collaborating with team members on special projects or ad-hoc tasks related to economic statistics
Requirements:
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent)
(b) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher)
A field of study that is closely related to the type of internship is required
Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. Programme
Preferably currently studying or having completed a degree in Commercial Engineering
Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is required
Nice to have:
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage
