Job Description:

Monitors and supports work of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). Schedules and delegates work and responsibilities. Provides personal care services and participates in implementation of program/treatment plans for individuals served by the program.

  • Cooperates with coworkers and other departments

  • Ensures staff follow work and program schedules
  • Directs work of DSPs on shift
  • Ensures DSPs remain engaged with individuals served
  • Ensures DSPs are aware of and adhere to recommendations
  • Ensures DSPs implement behavior programs appropriately
  • Assigns and directs general duties
  • Attends program meetings
  • Immediately notifies nurse of any indication of client medical problems
  • Shares in on-call responsibilities for staff coverage and for emergent situations
  • Reports issues with building/facility
  • Promotes quality services and awareness among DSPs
  • Monitors quality of work of staff
  • Ensures program’s compliance with all applicable Easterseals Arkansas policies and procedures
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Responds promptly and constructively to concerns
  • Reviews and evaluates the quality of services being provided
  • Ensures proper processes are followed for reporting incidents, injuries, or complaints
  • Ensures staff are trained and job expectations are clearly communicated
  • Documents any concerns related to job performance
  • Assists in maintaining proper staff coverage
  • Reviews daily staff assignments and makes alternate assignments
  • Provides input regarding concerns about time and attendance
  • Supervises agency staff
  • Participates in staff performance feedback
  • Assists DSP Manager with recruitment, interviewing and on-boarding of new staff
  • Provides feedback to DSP Manager on employee evaluations
  • Assists DSP Manager in ensuring time and attendance records are kept up to date

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Associate degree or higher preferred
  • Six months direct care experience and/or training required
  • Two years supervisory experience preferred
  • May substitute associate or bachelor’s degree in related field for one year of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of behavior modification techniques
  • Arkansas Driver's License
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables
