Job Description:

The Driver operates a tractor/trailer and transports personnel and products, utilizing public roads and highways and throughout the military base.

Job Responsibility:

  • Drives vehicles of seven‑ton load capacity and larger on long and short hauls, including tractor/trailer combinations to transport personnel, articles, and materials throughout the base and on public roads and highways
  • Ensures that cargo is properly loaded and secured and that vehicle is not loaded beyond capacity
  • Operates winch when vehicle is so equipped, completes trip tickets and preventive maintenance service records, and fills out driver's accident report in case of accident
  • Performs driver's maintenance in accordance with established rules and regulations
  • May occasionally drive other type and size vehicles if qualified and licensed, when required by the workload
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Two years driving experience in seven‑ton or larger capacity vehicles in a professional capacity with a safe driving record
  • Must possess a valid Washington State class "A" commercial driver's license with Tank (N) endorsement as a minimum
  • Must have at least one year experience in the operation of 6,000 to 15,000 lb. capacity forklifts
  • Must meet and maintain company physical and security requirements, including respirator qualification, and clearance eligibility when required
  • Must obtain and maintain required explosives certifications when assigned to ordnance operations
  • Must possess good communication skills for a service team environment
  • Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization
  • US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location

  • Follows preferred work methods at all times, and immediately advises management team of any unsafe conditions
  • Maintains and safely operates all assigned equipment, including but not limited to hand cart, pallets, load bars, SLS unit, and personal protective equipment
