Job Description:

With the continued growth in the industry, Scotlynn is currently hiring a Driver Recruiter at our corporate office in Norfolk County. This role is for an individual with exceptional communication skills and a thorough understanding of the transportation industry.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and implement effective recruitment and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable drivers
  • Use hiring websites, trade shows, social media and your extensive network to attract and retain new drivers
  • Support hiring events

Requirements:

  • Experience working in the transportation industry, preferably in recruitment
  • Experience providing fast and effective support related to trucking and dispatch inquiries
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
  • Self-driven
  • Solid knowledge of computers, social media
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel is a must
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice to have:

Written and verbal communication skills in multiple languages are considered an asset, but not required

  • Manage the onboarding of new drivers by organizing orientation sessions, safety training, and introducing company policies and procedures
  • Verify that all drivers meet legal and safety standards, including background checks, drug testing, and maintaining up-to-date licenses and certifications
  • Develop and implement initiatives to improve driver satisfaction and retention, such as reward programs, recognition events, and career development opportunities
  • Track driver performance metrics (e.g., safety records, punctuality, and customer feedback) and provide feedback or support for improvement when needed
  • Analyse feedback from departing drivers to identify trends and develop strategies to improve retention rates
  • Act as a liaison between drivers and management, addressing concerns and fostering open communication to improve engagement and morale
  • Use data and analytics to identify recruitment gaps, turnover trends, and retention challenges, adjusting strategies accordingly
  • Work closely with operations, HR, and safety teams to align recruitment and retention strategies with overall business objectives
