Job Description:

The primary role of the Director of Data and Analytics Engineering within the Global Data and Intelligence Platform (GDP) team is to lead the delivery of trusted, self-service analytics solutions enabling data-driven decisions across the corporate functions - Finance, Supply Chain, People, QARA etc., ensuring that we have the tools, capabilities, and insights needed to make data-driven decisions. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic vision for data and analytics engineering, as well as for building and leading a high-performing team. This role will be a thought leader in AI to drive the application and adoption of emerging AI-powered data and analytics engineering tools, and for building a foundation of integrated data to enable AI-driven experiences across these functions. This role works closely with customers and other stakeholders to understand and define customer needs.

Job Responsibility:

  • Implement data pipeline integrations and solutions, incorporating highly scalable cloud computing and large-scale data stores, including data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts
  • Partner with business leaders to identify and address their data and analytics engineering needs, and data scientists/analysts to determine which data is needed for analysis and provide the required data and analytics engineering solutions
  • Develop and implement a data governance framework to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and security of data
  • Focus on the development and implementation of strategic and operational objectives that help achieve the organizational mission. Implements organization strategies through the effective direction and management of employees and resources
  • Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers
  • maintaining relationships with key stakeholders at al levels in the organisation
  • Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior-level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or related fields
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in Data and Analytics Engineering, especially in Supply Chain or Finance domains
  • Experience in technologies like Snowflake, SQL, dbt, and Python is required
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, develop analytics solutions to challenges, and drive the implementation of the solution
  • Ability to work well through ambiguity, confidence in making tough calls and leading through adversity with a sharp focus on the eventual right outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand stories and insights
  • Strong work ethic, commitment to sweat the details with extreme ownership and end-to-end thinking
