We’re hiring a Director of Automation & Systems Integration to lead the design, standardisation, and deployment of automation and digital-integration platforms across our manufacturing and distribution network. This role builds the automation backbone of our next-generation supply chain; engineering scalable, reliable, and intelligent systems that increase productivity, improve asset performance, and enable scale.
Develop a multi-year roadmap for robotics, AGVs/AMRs, AS/RS, automated test platforms, and material movement automation
Serve as a strategic partner in evaluating automation opportunities
Lead systems integration of automation assets with MES, WES/WCS, SCADA, PLC/Controls IoT, and enterprise data systems
Establish integration toolkits, templates, interface libraries, and testing protocols
Develop and partner to create standard integration architectures
Partner with Digital Supply Chain teams to connect automation performance data to real-time dashboards, predictive analytics and digital twin
Ensure new and existing automation platforms are integrated securely and consistently
Lead engineering evaluation, technology selection, and deployment of robotics, automation technologies across manufacturing and distribution environments
Govern engineering specifications, vendor selection, lifecycle cost models, standard controls architecture, FAT/SAT protocols, and commissioning excellence
Establish an Automation Center of Excellence
Champion design-for-replication to enable rapid, reliable deployment of automation platforms across sites
Ensure all automation and integrated systems produce accurate, high resolution performance data to support OEE improvement, predictive maintenance, and capacity optimization
Partner with Industrial Engineering and Asset Performance teams to leverage downtime analytics, bottleneck analysis, TPB aligned reliability engineering practices
Embed automation health monitoring, diagnostics, and predictive analytics
Enable real-time and global automation dashboards
Define automation and integration requirements for new supply chain sites
Partner with Facility and Industrial Engineering to embed automation early in layout design, utilities planning, safety architecture, and CVS processes
Deploy modular automation solutions
Build a world-class global team of automation, robotics, controls, and systems integration engineers
Establish engineering governance
Create training pathways and capability-building programs
Foster a culture grounded in engineering rigor, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Requirements:
12–15+ years in automation engineering, robotics, systems integration, or advanced manufacturing engineering, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles
Deep expertise in automation platforms including robotics, AGVs/AMRs, automated test systems, material storage and handling automation, and controls architecture and digital integration (MES, SCADA, PLC, WES/WCS, IoT)
Strong manufacturing automation experience is essential
exposure to distribution automation is valuable
Experience with TPM, reliability engineering, or maintenance strategies for automated systems is highly beneficial
Demonstrated success delivering global automation deployments in highly regulated, multi-site supply chain environments
Strong understanding of OEE, bottleneck analysis, predictive maintenance, flow modeling, and asset performance improvement
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation, Mechatronics, Systems, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering
advanced digital or robotics certifications a plus
Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across global supply chain landscapes
