Job Description:

You will be part of the core team at GE Digital Grid Software Business that is using software to enable de-carbonized future of energy for the planet by designing, building, delivering, and maintaining software applications & services for next generation Grid Software that is used by 40% of the world’s power utilities today. As a Director of a solution engineering group, you will have the key role of integration, testing and hardware and configuration certification of all Grid software products including GridOS, which is the next generation Energy Transition software from GE. You will work with global leadership team to drive innovation in enterprise solution building and delivery by compiling and building test cases, using simulation and work with research institutions to generate gold standard data, building, and owning capability to integrate diverse set of products through Solution Integration Reference Environment and shaping associated technologies including hardware certification and recommendations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Build a world class enterprise software integration, testing and certification team to consistently deliver high quality, full integrated Grid software products such as ADMS, AEMS and the newly launched GridOS
  • Build, own and grow the CI/CD, System Integration Reference Environment (SIRE) that run Grid Software products. Own and converge the test environments across business and work on plan to integrate all SIREs in the business. Integrate the SIRE into the Evergreen cloud deployment strategy to enable faster deployment to customers
  • Own and drive certification of runtime environment for different products including hardware qualification, integration, and testing. Recreate customer issues and enhance regression tests based on customer found bugs to drive continuous improvement of SIRE
  • Demonstrate strong ownership and accountability through efficient process and communication across the organization
  • Work across cross functional leadership team to shape vision, develop strategies, and execute in presence of ambiguity for the integrated reference environment
  • Support development of strategy for organization including resource planning, innovation, and execution
  • Use AI and advanced technologies such as simulation to build best in class test data sets to drive thorough integrated testing of the products
  • Build both your personal and team’s domain knowledge and expertise in power systems to enable system level thinking and end-to-end delivery to drive enterprise solution engineering
  • Engage with customers to learn, internalize, and develop key priorities for their teams and provide day to day work direction for people leaders and teams engaged in projects and delivery
  • Build high performance teams and accelerate delivery of products with good quality and security
  • Drive a continuous learning culture to help guide continuous improvements. Develop next generation of people leaders with strong domain and software knowledge
  • Ability to develop project plans and thoroughly tracking them for progress and mitigating risks
  • Operate as an engaged leader who serves as a subject matter and technical expert for assigned programs and development initiatives
  • Deliver Evergreen product through collaboration with services team for customers to deploy with confidence in production by providing solution environments in the cloud through deployment automation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) + with minimum 15 years of experience in building and delivering software solutions
  • Proven track record of having delivered enterprise scale agile and lean projects/software with DevOps focus
  • 7 years of experience as people leader
  • Must be willing to travel to key sites, if required.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in working in industrial environments and power grid is a strong plus
  • Experience in having worked in enterprise solution building and DevOps is a strong plus
  • Working on data system across multiple operating systems/cloud environments is considered strong plus
  • Advanced degrees such as MS specially in distributed computing or data systems is strong plus
  • Building and qualifying hardware labs and growing innovation is a strong plus
