The Digital Project Leader (DPL) drives digital projects throughout the Innovation and Digital Solutions (SD) process, from initial incubation and maturation to full implementation and value materialization. Serving as a digital business partner, the DPL orchestrates all necessary activities and gathers inputs from a diverse range of stakeholders—including Business Owners, Customers, Architects, and Data Governance teams—to ensure the robustness of the digital dossier. The DPL is nominated at the Incubation/Maturation phase once an idea is validated for the Innovation or Incremental sub-process. You will be responsible for providing continuous visibility on project progress and ensuring the final solution aligns strictly with customer expectations and solves the identified business problem.
Job Responsibility:
Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with Portfolio Management to ensure digital initiatives are congruent with the overarching Airbus Strategy
Epic Lifecycle Management: Develop Lean Business Cases, define the Minimum Viable Product (MVP), and facilitate the progression of Epics through the Portfolio Kanban system
Cross-functional Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with Marketing, Sales, Contracts, Lean Portfolio Management, Product Management, Security, and Agile Teams to mature Epics
Backlog Prioritization and Decomposition: Partner with Product Managers and System Architects to decompose Epics into features/capabilities, subsequently prioritizing these within the ART and Solution Train Backlogs
Active Agile Participation: Engage in PI Planning, System Demos, and Solution Demos. Provide necessary support to Agile Teams during research spikes, proofs of concept, and mock-up development
Deployment and Post-EIS Support: Formulate deployment strategies and establish product support models following Entry into Service (EIS). Identify early adopters and facilitate robust continuous delivery pipelines
Governance and Reporting: Construct the comprehensive digital project dossier
report progress via Investment Committees or Digital Project Reviews to secure formal phase-gate validations
Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to all prerequisites and completion of digital gate checklists, validating value/cost hypotheses and guaranteeing the compliance of the digital solution
Requirements:
BE / B. Tech / M. Tech. / MBA
10–12 years of professional experience in Digital Product or Project Management
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (SAFe / Scrum / Kanban)
Experience with Lean Portfolio Management and Continuous Delivery pipelines
Familiarity with Design Thinking Principles
Overall understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Basic exposure to software development competencies
Basic exposure to digital technologies such as Time Series Data, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, AI, IOT, and Big Data
Proven ability to act as a bridge between technical implementation teams and senior business stakeholders
Proven Problem-Solving skills
Creative and Strategic thinking ability
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal capabilities
