Job Description:

Deputy Technical Lead (Ecology) role at RSK Biocensus. A long term secondment role supporting one of our major clients, requiring specialist knowledge of ecology (species specialism/ Habitats and BNG) and experience of being involved in the delivery of this work on infrastructure projects.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the coordination of ecology surveys, data management, mitigation, and reporting in relation to species specialism
  • Support the Technical Lead for bats, mammals, ornithology, habitat and BNG in the formulation of ecological survey work and the technical aspects of assessment
  • Work with a team of ecologists in delivering survey work, analysis and reporting to support the assessment process
  • Assist the Technical Lead in scoping and specifying technical impact assessment work
  • Contribute to the technical aspects of the delivery of assessment work
  • Drafting and text for assessment reports

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle
  • Qualification or equivalent professional experience in a relevant environment or technical discipline
  • Chartered or full accredited membership (or working towards one) from a relevant professional institute or equivalent
  • Excellent health and safety awareness
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Document production abilities using various software inc. excel, word, GIS, PowerPoint
  • Excellent organisational skills

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience of working at a high level within teams focusing on Habitat and BNG deliverables
  • Experience in prescribing and implementing mitigation measures
  • Experience of ensuring compliance with the client’s quality, cost and time requirements
