Job Description:

The Company currently have vacancies for Deckhands in its ERRV/MRV fleet. Various start dates available. Permanent contract. 4 weeks on/off rotation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Execution of duties as designated by watch keeping rota
  • Responsible to the Watch Keeping Officer on Watch for any/all duties
  • Responsible to the Coxswain when engaged as a Rescue Craft crew member
  • Familiar with the use of Breathing Apparatus and possess basic Fire Fighting Skills
  • Form part of both the vessel's on board Emergency Response team, and Rescue Craft's whereby applicable
  • Monitor safe working practices of shore contractors during periods of maintenance
  • Actively promote and progress the company Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Policy
  • Actively promote inter-departmental communications

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 months relevant sea time
  • Have worked as a Deckhand previously
  • Preferably worked on an ERRV vessel
  • STCW Personal Survival Techniques (A-VI/1-1) certificate
  • STCW Fire Fighting and Fire Prevention (A-VI/1-2) certificate
  • STCW Elementary First Aid (A-VI/1-3) certificate
  • STCW Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (A-VI/1-4) certificate
  • Seafarers medical certificate

Nice to have:

  • OPITO ITSO (or Medical Aid and Rescue Care) certificate
  • OPITO FRC Boatman certificate
