Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Database Administrator to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role requires expertise in managing, optimizing, and maintaining databases to ensure high performance and reliability. Based in Chantilly, Virginia, this position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to critical projects.

Job Responsibility:

Manage and maintain databases to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability
design and implement database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and other technologies
optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and other advanced techniques
develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity
collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless database integration with applications
implement and monitor configuration management for database environments
utilize Microsoft Azure and Azure Data Factory for cloud-based database solutions
perform cluster analysis and manage database clustering for high availability
support database migration efforts and ensure smooth transitions
conduct AB testing and analyze results to improve database functionality

Requirements:

Strong experience in database administration with expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL
proficiency in Microsoft Azure and Azure Data Factory
hands-on knowledge of Linux technologies and their application in database management
skilled in database optimization, including indexing and query tuning
experience with backup technologies and disaster recovery planning
familiarity with configuration management and cluster analysis
ability to conduct AB testing and interpret data results
excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
