Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our databases. You’ll play a key role in the planning and development of database architecture, as well as in troubleshooting and ensuring data availability and consistency across the organization.

Job Responsibility:

Install, configure, and maintain database systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required
Ensure data integrity and security, including access control and disaster recovery planning
Optimize queries and indexes to improve system performance
Manage backup and recovery procedures
Collaborate with developers, analysts, and system administrators to support data needs
Create and maintain documentation related to database configuration, procedures, and policies
Implement automation scripts for routine maintenance and reporting tasks

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
3+ years of experience in a database administration role
Strong proficiency with SQL and experience managing databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle
Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and data migration
Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies
Understanding of database security best practices
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills

Nice to have:

Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL)
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash)
Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator or Oracle DBA
