Our partner is looking for a Data Operations Team Lead to join their Global Operations department in Budapest. You will lead a dedicated team of Data Operations analysts responsible for the seamless execution of investment data processes across various asset classes. The team’s scope includes Investment Data Operations, Data Quality management, and Issuer/Broker Data oversight. You will drive operational excellence, mitigate risks, and ensure regulatory compliance while fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture. Serving as a central hub, you will connect investment teams, data vendors, and technology partners to ensure data integrity.
Job Responsibility:
Manage and mentor a high-performing team of Data Operations professionals, ensuring comprehensive operational coverage and career growth
Oversee the full lifecycle of client and fund events, including launches, closures, restructures, and changes in custody
Ensure the timely and accurate processing of all data activities, maintaining rigorous standards for data integrity and control
Partner with Operations Leadership to refine the operating model and champion strategic process improvements
Work cross-functionally with Portfolio Management, Technology, and Compliance to establish and maintain robust operational protocols
Perform root-cause analysis on master data system issues and execute necessary corrective actions
Manage the onboarding and maintenance of security master data, ensuring accurate setups and updates
Support the onboarding and ongoing maintenance of Broker, Counterparty, and Issuer data
Monitor data quality exceptions daily and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience
Significant experience in data operations including investment data, data quality, and issuer/broker data management
Proven track record of managing and developing teams within financial services or asset management
Detailed experience in transition, onboarding, or client service roles
Strong understanding of operational risk frameworks, control environments, and regulatory requirements
Experience with Aladdin Security Master and data quality tools is highly preferred
Demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements
Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to navigate cross-functional teams and external partners
Collaborative mindset with a strong focus on client satisfaction and service quality
