Job Description:

Infrastructure Operations Engineer (Data Center) role at KAYAK, part of the Operations team supporting development and production environments. The role involves datacenter operations, hardware management, technical support, incident resolution, and documentation.

Job Responsibility:

Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and monitoring of datacenter environment
Manage end-to-end server lifecycle
Install firmware and OS installations and upgrades
Act as 'smart hands' support for various technical tasks
Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Participate in on-call rotation for critical incidents
Respond to and resolve technical tickets related to server hardware and network connectivity
Maintain accurate documentation of datacenter assets, configurations, and procedures

Requirements:

Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred
Equivalent professional experience considered
Proficiency in server hardware (e.g., Dell, HP, Cisco)
Proficiency in operating systems (Linux, Windows Server)
Fundamental networking concepts
Experience with Linux command-line interface
Ability to learn rapidly and work both autonomously and collaboratively
Strong problem-solving capabilities
Excellent communication skills
Comprehensive understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Expertise in configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible
Expertise in orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
Expertise in containerization technologies
Willingness to participate in on-call rotation
Willingness to travel to local datacenter sites as required
