Requirements

Graduation from an Accredited Surgical Technologist CAAHEP or ABHES Program
OR - Previous experience working in an Operating Room (OR) setting
Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from an accredited program preferred NBSTA or NCCT, but not required
At least 1 year of CVOR experience is required
1-2 years Experience with Open Heart Procedures
Experience with CV Procedures
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) NCCT Required Or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Required
Associate's Degree

Job Responsibility

Assembling, organizing and maintaining a sterile field for operative procedures
Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and progression of the case and prepare accordingly
Proper disposition of specimens and instruments
Works with entire surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety
Weekday and weekend call is required for this position
Assist the surgical team during surgeries, ensure a sterile environment, hand instruments to surgeons during procedures, and maintain patient safety
Clean and restock the operating room between surgeries

Requirements

Minimum of six months' experience in an acute care Surgery Department and be able to perform as the scrub personnel in all specialties
OR Tech Certified required
CPR/BLS Certification required

Job Responsibility

Perform routine Patient Care activities and related non-professional services in the care of sub-acute and acute patients undergoing Surgical Procedures
Work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse
Provide care/service to an acutely ill through rehabilitating pediatric through geriatric patient population
