Customer Service Specialist

• handle incoming calls and route individuals to the appropriate departments, programs, or services
• assist clients in initiating applications for essential services such as housing, food, or fuel assistance
• communicate empathetically and effectively with individuals facing crises or hardships
• accurately input and maintain client information in internal systems
• work collaboratively with caseworkers and program staff to ensure timely and comprehensive support
• perform administrative tasks including data entry, documentation, and follow-up communication
• uphold strict confidentiality and demonstrate respect for clients' dignity and privacy
• provide general office support to enhance daily operations and client service delivery

• Proven experience in a call center or customer service role, preferably in an inbound environment
• strong ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism
• proficiency with basic office software and systems, including data entry tools
• excellent verbal and written communication skills
• familiarity with social service programs or similar support systems is a plus
• ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
• commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards
• high school diploma or equivalent required
• additional certifications are an advantage
