Job Description:

We are currently recruiting a Yard Operative, Counterbalance to join our Warehouse team. This is a hands-on role responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of vehicles, ensuring stock integrity, compliance, and adherence to health & safety and GDP requirements. You will work closely with Stock Control, Logistics, Operations, Goods Out, Packing, and Quality & Compliance teams, as well as external haulage partners, to ensure smooth yard operations and on-time vehicle movements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Safely load and unload delivery vehicles in line with goods in and goods out schedules
  • Check department systems to monitor arriving vehicles and ensure timely processing
  • Ensure all pallets are correctly wrapped and secure to prevent damage during transit
  • Follow load sheets accurately
  • Identify and report damaged or contaminated products promptly
  • Carry out general warehouse duties as required
  • Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Operate counterbalance and other handling equipment safely
  • Complete and record daily truck safety checks
  • Clean trucks regularly
  • Maintain a high standard of health & safety at all times
  • Ensure all activities involving medicines and medical devices comply with Good Distribution Practice (GDP)

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a busy warehouse or yard environment
  • Good numerical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow processes and work accurately under time pressure
  • Strong awareness of health & safety requirements
  • Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence
