The Correspondence Analyst III provides senior level analytical support to achieve successful correspondence operations within the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Nuclear Energy (NE), Correspondence Control Center (CCC). This position ensures internal functional teams and external customers are following policies and processes for planning, prioritization and issue resolution of overall correspondence control center activities in the support and achievement of customer goals.
Job Responsibility:
Works with internal functional teams and external customers for planning, prioritization and issue resolution of overall correspondence control center activities in the support and achievement of customer goals
Reviews correspondence to assure policy and procedural requirements are followed, contents are adequate and prepared and in the style and tone preferred by the Executive Secretariat and NE
Ensures documents meet quality standards for readability, logic, flow, and have been properly coordinated
Recommends approval or disapproval of correspondence
Establishes priorities, conducts research and recommends assignment of actions to the most appropriate organization
Coordinates with senior staff, within NE and other DOE organizations, in providing responses to congressional and stakeholder inquiries
Oversees and reviews draft responses and coordinates concurrences for NE signature
Reviews written communications such as congressional correspondence and testimony, issue papers, policy papers, and action/decision documents
Maintains the computerized coordination and tracking system for action assignments and commitments that require acknowledgment or decision by the Assistant Secretary of NE
Serves as primary support to the NE Chief of Staff (COS) for executing NE CCC procedures
Serve as the primary backup for the NE-1 Front Office
Provides analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements and optimization
Consults with clients, analyzes data and recommends innovative solutions
Makes recommendations for effective distribution of organizational resources
Requirements:
Must be able to obtain government security clearance
Possession of active DOE Q clearance is highly preferred
Strong working knowledge of DOE correspondence rules, policies and procedures
Strong working knowledge of the principles and concepts of information governance to control a variety of DOE NE internal and external correspondence at various stages
Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Skilled in facilitating teamwork and coordinating efforts for the successful achievement of goals
Excellent verbal and written communications skills with solid presentation skills
Exceptional customer service and relationship-building skills
Ability to schedule, plan and lead meetings
Ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team environment
Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study and a minimum of seven (7) years' relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience
Experience in analyzing policies, systems, operations, and management issues
