This is a foundational hire and the first senior accounting/FinOps leader for the organization. The Corporate Controller will play a critical role in building scalable financial infrastructure to support aggressive growth, including multiple acquisitions per year. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role offers meaningful authorship in designing best-in-class accounting processes, systems, and teams from the ground up. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, PE-backed environments and views accounting as a strategic growth enabler—not just a compliance function.
Job Responsibility:
Build a Scalable Accounting Infrastructure
Design and implement GAAP-compliant accounting policies, SOPs, and monthly close processes
Own audit and tax workstreams, ensuring readiness and clean opinions
Lead development of an efficient, automated accounting tech stack (ERP, close tools, fintech)
Lead M&A and Integration Efforts
Own financial integration of acquired companies (COA, ERP, data migration, processes)
Execute purchase accounting (ASC 805), including PPAs and opening balance sheets
Ensure data integrity, system performance, and process alignment post-close
Team & Culture Development
Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing accounting team
Evaluate and integrate accounting talent from acquired businesses
Establish a strong, collaborative FinOps culture aligned with growth objectives
Operational & Strategic Partnership
Oversee AP, AR, GL, and overall controllership across the platform
Partner with CFO and FP&A on financial reporting, KPIs, debt compliance, and forecasting
Develop a 13-week cash flow forecast and support treasury initiatives
Serve as a key business partner to operations, providing insights to drive growth
Requirements:
8+ years of combined public and private accounting experience
CPA preferred
Experience in a highly acquisitive, private equity–backed environment
Industry experience in construction, field services, or similar project-based businesses preferred
Strong GAAP knowledge, including ASC 606, ASC 805, and ASC 842
Proven track record of ERP implementations (Intacct or NetSuite preferred)
