An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cook/Chef to join our Dovehaven Team. This role will require you to work 40 hours a week on a rota basis at our Dean Wood Manor home on Spring Road, Orrell, Wigan, WN5 0JH. The working hours will be 4 days a week - 6.30am - 5.30pm on a rota basis with alternate weekend availability required! Dean Wood is a beautiful and unique home which specialises in complex care need, EMI, dementia and Nursing. All residents are treated as individuals and the staff focus on what they can do for themselves, and not on what they can no longer do.

Job Responsibility:

Ensure nutritious and beautifully presented meals are provided for residents

Requirements:

Good organisation and time management skills
Ability to work under pressure effectively
Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy
Previous Care home or hotel experience
Ability to prepare meals for 50 or more residents
Dependable and flexible
Catering (C&G) or NVQ 3 qualification desirable
Food Hygiene and First Aid qualifications desirable

Nice to have:

Previous Care home or hotel experience
