Job Description:

This key leadership role calls for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in financial oversight, team management, and expertise in the manufacturing and retail industries. The role is based in Honolulu, Hawaii, and involves managing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and working in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility:

Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering efficiency and ensuring high standards in financial operations
Oversee the preparation, review, and analysis of monthly and annual financial statements
Manage month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulations, including tax filings and quarterly preparation
Monitor and enhance manufacturing cost accounting processes to improve operational efficiency
Work closely with the retail and e-commerce teams to align financial strategies with organizational goals
Leverage Microsoft Office tools and (if experienced) Microsoft Business Central to streamline accounting workflows
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to bolster internal controls
Provide actionable financial insights to guide leadership in strategic decision-making and business growth.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
CPA certification is strongly preferred
Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years leading a team of 5 or more
Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager is highly desired
Background in retail or manufacturing industries is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential
familiarity with D365 is advantageous
Strong expertise in financial statement preparation, month-end/year-end closings, and journal entries
Knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting and retail e-commerce financial practices.

Nice to have:

Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager
Background in retail or manufacturing industries
familiarity with D365.
